At work, school, in the community, or even among family members holding different viewpoints, we’ve all seen a rise in divisiveness that can often spark larger conflict. When emotions intensify, conflicts escalate, leaving people more at odds than they were before.
The National Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC) is a group of dedicated professionals who believe that people can engage in challenging conversations with respect, dignity and hope for the future. At this workshop, NCRC’s Director of External Relations Ashley Virtue will join us to show how their de-escalation techniques can prepare you to navigate difficult conversations and maintain safety, respect, and dignity for everyone involved, while helping to slow down, reduce, or prevent further conflict.
Learn NCRC’s “ART” communication strategy:
- Active Awareness – Manage your own reactions to improve public interactions.
- Responding Respectfully – Use active listening to help people feel heard and reduce tension.
- Troubleshooting Together – Collaborate to resolve conflict using options, shared values, and objective criteria.
