Learn about one of our latest initiatives: the Agenda Monitoring Project (AMP). Our monitors will alert League leadership of upcoming issues of interest to our League on agendas of local public meetings. If you are interested in local government, this project is a great window into what's happening, and an easy way to volunteer from home to help your community!
At a brief Zoom meet & greet session we will describe the process, the minimal time commitment, and the two options for in-person training on August 11 and 22 at the Encinitas Library.
All those interested:
Thursday Aug 7 1:30pm Zoom Intro
Then attend one (1) of the following sessions:
Monday Aug 11 1-3 pm Encinitas Library Study Room A
or
Friday Aug 22 10am-12pm Encinitas Library Study Room A
No need to attend both .. just pick the session that works for you. Actual training time is approx. 1 hour, plus practice time if needed.
In short, our volunteer monitors will read the agendas of upcoming local government meetings published online and use a Google notification tool to alert League leadership of items of interest and possible advocacy.
We need monitors to read agendas for the City Councils of Del Mar, Encinitas, Escondido, Oceanside, San Marcos, Solana Beach, and Vista, as well as, the Oceanside Unified School District.
You may attend the trainings with no obligation to continue. Come and learn and then decide if it's something that you'd like to do.
