Subject: Join Us at the Lagoon and Theatre
From: Marian Vega Clancy

Hello ~~first_name~~,

It's a great time to get outside to enjoy this beautiful late spring weather and find get inspired by the League!

This Wednesday, May 21, join us at Agua Hedionda Lagoon Discover Campus for a Social and Educational happy hour.  We'll talk about non-partisanship action in these turbulent political times, and you will have the opportunity to meet other League members and discover opportunities to become active in the League, while enjoying what promises to be lovely outdoor weather overlooking the Agua Hedionda Lagoon.  No need to RSVP, just come on over to the Lagoon.

And for those who like the theatre...

buy your tickets from New Village Arts theatre for the Sunday June 8, 2pm matinee to attend with a few other League members. You will need to purchase your own theatre ticket(s). Use the discount code theatre20 at checkout for a discount of 20%!  If you can't make June 8th, the discount is also available for any other performance date.

The timing of this impactful play is ideal in re-igniting Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s message as we battle to defend democracy. After delivering his iconic "I've been to the mountaintop" speech, an exhausted Martin Luther King Jr. encounters a mysterious hotel maid in Room 306 of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis on April 3, 1968. You'll meet the man behind the legend and be inspired by the enduring impact of his work.

Together, we can spark change and strengthen our democracy. The League is not just about watching from the sidelines -- it's about finding inspiration in each other, standing up, and taking action. Come as you are, bring your curiosity, questions, and ideas, and let's make a difference together. I look forward to seeing you next Wednesday at the Lagoon!

With purpose and passion,
Marian Vega Clancy
