Join us at the Carlsbad Senior Center (799 Pine Ave, Carlsbad) for a morning of community, civic action, and League business. We had planned to welcome San Diego County Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer as our keynote speaker — but she had a joyful reason to cancel: the early arrival of a baby girl! We wish her and her family all the best. In the spirit of rolling with life’s surprises the way only League members can, we'll be welcoming her office's Director of Organizing Cipriano Vargas as our guest speaker. See his bio below.

Guest Speaker Cipriano Vargas
Cipriano Vargas serves as Director of Organizing in the office of San Diego County Board of Supervisors Chair Terra Lawson-Remer, working to connect communities across the region with county government. A Vista native and proud product of Vista Unified Schools, Vargas was the first in his family to attend college at Cal State San Marcos, where he was appointed by Governor Brown to the CSU Board of Trustees. He also serves as an elected Vista Unified School District Board of Education trustee.
